JEDCO Sign an Agreement with King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) to Support Jordanian Entrepreneurs


Amman- Within the framework of JEDCO's continuous support to Jordanian entrepreneurs, JEDCO has signed an agreement with King Abdullah II fund for development to support local entrepreneurial ideas and projects from different governorates through a program which support entrepreneurial ideas and projects.

The agreement was signed by Sa'eb Al-Hassan the fund's manager and JEDCO's CEO Abdel Fattah Al-Kayed and the presence of Representatives from both institutions.

Al-Kayed stressed on the importance of cooperation and coordination among all institutions to achieve local economic development, since all projects which will be funded aimed at empowering entrepreneurs within their productive projects from all governorates, which need to unify all the stakeholders' efforts to support them and promote their economic and social realities.

According to the agreement, both institutions will cooperate to implement a program to support entrepreneurial ideas and projects in all governorates, which will be launched this month, in addition to designing and implementing projects that serve youth group and achieve their common goals, in addition to promoting the needed activities and events.

Saeb Al Hassan, director of the King Abdullah II fund for development, said that the signing of this agreement comes within the objectives of the fund to provide new opportunities for youth in various governorates and translate the concept of partnership between institutions in various sectors to support and develop their projects ideas and translate them into business plans and viable financing proposals.

He also indicated that the partnership and cooperation with Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation came in a great role to support startups and SMEs .

JEDCO is the national umbrella for economic enterprise development in Jordan, inclusive of startups and entrepreneurship.  JEDCO supports the developments of these enterprises and strengthens their competitiveness, in addition to facilitating access to financing.  It also seeks to promote and enable policies that create a more suitable environment for their growth.

The King Abdullah II fund for development (KAFD), a national organization aims at contributing to raising the national productivity of citizens and motivating them to achieve sustainable development in various fields in all governorates of the kingdom, through the implementation of programs and initiatives in partnership with public and private and civil society institutions.
